We’ll suggest properties to match your preferred budget, be it low-cost, mid-range or high-end luxury that you’re looking for. We can also mix it up so you’ll experience a range of standards and experiences along your road trip.
All of our road trips can be tailored to meet your requirements. Do you have more or less than 14 days for your road trip? No problem, we can bolt on extra nights to allow more time to explore or shorten the number of destinations as required.
Toronto has numerous airlines offering direct flights from the UK, and thus it makes for a great jumping-off point for this road trip holiday. After a relatively short 7-hour flight, you’ll make your way downtown and settle into your hotel before heading out for an evening meal in one of Toronto’s many dining establishments. Options include Koreatown, Chinatown or having a bite to eat at one of the trendy restaurants found on King Street West.
Toronto is a big city, Canada’s biggest in fact. So, after a hearty breakfast, you’ll hit the streets on the first of two full days exploring all that Toronto has to offer. Still a little tired after your flight? Then why not start off by using the City Sightseeing Toronto bus? This is a great way to understand the lay of the land and to get from attraction to attraction.
Another action-packed day in Toronto, options include visiting one of Toronto’s amazing museums, experiencing Ripley’s Aquarium Of Canada or shopping in the upmarket Bloor Yorkville neighbourhood and mass-market Eaton Centre. Finally, watching the sunset from the top of the CN Tower is a great way to sign off your Toronto stay. The brave amongst you might even opt to experience the “Edge Walk”. Be warned, you’ll need a good head for heights if you venture outside 500m above the ground.
It’s time to get behind the wheel and cruise east along Loyalist Parkway to the Thousand Islands region of Ontario. Along the way, we recommend you stop by Sandbanks Provincial Park for a picnic or to stretch your legs; here, you’ll find three huge beaches that some claim are among Canada’s best. Next, you’ll continue east to the Thousand Islands area, a scenic stretch of 1864 islands dotted along the mighty Saint Lawrence River.
Follow the impressive Saint Lawrence River east to Montreal in the Province of Quebec. After settling into your hotel, you’ll be left with a day and a half to explore majestic Montreal. Not sure that’s long enough to see everything Montreal has to offer? It’s not a problem. As always, we’d be more than happy to add time to this stop or any other stop. Just let us know when you request your custom-made quotation.
Montreal’s highlights include Notre-Dame Basilica, Montreal Botanical Gardens, Mount Royal, Old Montreal and the Old Port area of Montreal. Your detailed Road Trip Pack will guide you through everything available to see and do. How many you tick off is, of course, totally up to you.
The next leg of the Quebec section of this road trip holiday takes you further along the banks of the mighty St. Lawrence River to the historic and handsome Quebec City.
A second day to soak up the unique atmosphere of Quebec City. Walk the walls and the cobbled streets of Old Town before enjoying a long lunch in one of the Parisian-styled restaurants that line the streets.
Ottawa might be our favourite of all the major Canadian cities. So get an early start, and head west looking out for the stop-off suggestions contained within your Road Trip Pack. After arriving in friendly Ottawa, grab a map and hit the streets. Like both Montreal and Quebec City, Ottawa is a very walkable city, and thus, it’s best explored on foot.
World-class museums, Parliament Hill and a UNESCO-protected canal system, are just some of what Ottawa and neighbouring Gatineau have to offer. After a busy day sightseeing, you can enjoy a leisurely meal in the Byward Market district or indulge yourself with a soak at the nearby Nordik Spa-Nature.
Algonquin Provincial Park lies northwest of Ottawa, and it’s a popular place to rent a kayak and go in search of wildlife. Whether you are on the water or dry land, you’ll have the opportunity to spot moose, deer, beavers, bears and chipmunks as you pass through. For those travelling in late September or early October, Algonquin Park also puts on a sensational show of Fall colour.
Your Road Trip Pack will give you route advice for each section of this fly-drive holiday. Today, we recommend you ignore the direct route and detour via Lake Muskoka and enjoy a nice lunch in upmarket Port Carling before continuing onto The Blue Mountains region on the shores of Georgian Bay.
After a leisurely morning enjoying the summer activities available at the ski resort of Blue Mountain, you’ll head south to the awe-inspiring sight that is Niagara Falls. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed once you get there!
Your last full day will be spent ogling at the breathtaking sight of Niagara Falls. American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and Horseshoe Falls combine to create an awesome experience that engages all your senses. There is so much to see and do here… Ride the Hornblower to the base of the Falls, or experience the power from behind the falling water at Journey Behind the Falls. Niagara Falls will stay with you forever, and it makes for a fitting end to an epic Ontario and Quebec holiday adventure.
